I have been working with and teaching children for nearly forty years. I started Art For Kids in 1995. It combines the two things I most enjoyed: teaching children and creating art. The school has grown from one class of eight children in 1995 to nine classes weekly totaling over 100 students. My initial training and work experience was in school as a classroom teacher with a vocation in practical art. I have lead art workshops as leisure activities; worked as an artist in residence at local schools; conducted inset training sessions for primary schools; and started and continue to teach Art for Kids. When time permits, I am a studio potter specializing in majolica kitchenware. Additionally I am a Beaver Scout Leader, teach Sunday School at St Nicholas Church, Chislehurst, and organise for The Chislehurst Society its annual art and environmental studies competition for children and young adults (the Alun & Joy Jones Environmental Studies Awards). I founded and chair the Chislehurst Common Big Draw Initiative, an award-winning annual community art extravaganza on the Common. CV:
